Background information

To promote the international exchange of innovative green ideas in the field of sustainability, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has been organizing the prestigious annual award “Green Talents - Internationa Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development” since 2009.

The winners are first invited to a virtual science forum (“Science Forum”), where they are introduced to different stations of German sustainability research.

They will also receive an overview of our research landscape and meet German experts for one-on-one discussions.

The second part of the award includes a fully funded research stay in Germany of up to three months.

The prize, which is under the patronage of the German Federal Minister of Education and Research, honors young researchers from numerous countries and scientific disciplines for their achievements and commitment to greater sustainability in their communities, countries and societies.
