Ambassador Bleicker said it was a great honor for him to represent Germany as Permanent Representative to the three UN organizations in Rome.

He added:

At a time when global hunger is increasing due to conflicts, climate change and pandemic-related obstacles to international trade, the work of FAO as a knowledge-based and standard-setting organization is invaluable.

I look forward to constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation, also in interaction with the United Nations World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

Background information

Joachim Bleicker can look back on a long diplomatic career.
