Berlin, 15-18 January 2025 – The 17th Global Food Forum of Agriculture (GFFA) will take place in January 2025 in Berlin, bringing together key stakeholders in the agricultural sector each year.

With this year's motto, “Farming a Sustainable Bioeconomy,” the forum aims to develop solutions to address global challenges in agriculture.

Our economic system faces significant challenges: the heavy reliance on fossil resources depletes finite supplies and exacerbates the climate crisis.

A sustainable, circular bioeconomy offers a key to creating a resilient resource base by utilizing materials from agriculture and forestry, aquaculture, as well as organic waste, microorganisms, and insects.

At GFFA 2025, four central themes of the bioeconomy will be discussed:

  • Sustainable biomass production – Resolving conflicts of objectives
  • Sustainable biomass utilization – Ensuring global food security
  • Strengthening innovation – Promoting communication
  • Creating fair framework conditions – Embracing change

To address these themes, GFFA 2025 will offer various formats, including panel discussions, workshops, and expert forums. The focus will be on technological innovations, sustainable agriculture, and food security, fostering the development of new approaches for a future-oriented agricultural sector.

Background Information

The GFFA was established in 2013 and has become one of the most important events in agriculture. It brings together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities in global agriculture. Given the pressing issues of climate change, resource scarcity, and food security, the forum has gained increasing significance in recent years.

GFFA 2025 will again take place in Berlin as part of the International Green Week, promoting dialogue between professionals and the public. Participants and decision-makers will have the opportunity to work together towards sustainable agriculture and equitable food security.
