Rome, 28 April 2026 - The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) invites early-career professionals from non- and under-represented Member Nations to explore international career opportunities and contribute to more sustainable agrifood systems.

The FAO Virtual Career Fair will take place on 28 April 2026, offering participants the opportunity to connect directly with FAO staff, learn about entry-level and early-career pathways, and gain insight into the Organization’s work.

About the event

The FAO Virtual Career Fair provides a platform for engagement between early-career professionals and the Organization. Participants gain insight into FAO’s work, recruitment pathways, and global operations.

Who should participate

The event is primarily designed for young professionals interested in international careers in areas such as agrifood systems, food safety, agricultural economics and policy, animal production and health, climate and environment, forestry, fisheries and aquaculture, food and nutrition, information systems and technology, statistics, communication, evaluation, partnerships, and related fields.

FAO particularly encourages applications from qualified nationals of non- and under-represented Member Nations, including Germany.

Participation

Registration is required via Impactpool. Participants are asked to complete their profile and upload a CV. Applications are reviewed to ensure alignment with the objectives of the event.

Engagement during the event

Participants may submit questions during live sessions via chat. Virtual booths provide further opportunities to explore vacancies and interact with FAO representatives.

One-to-one chats

One-to-one conversations offer the opportunity to discuss career paths, organisational culture, and specific roles. These exchanges are informal and intended to facilitate direct exchange.
