Welcome
Global Disability Summit 2025 in Berlin, 2-3 April 2025
Berlin, 2-3 April 2025 - In 2025, Berlin will become the focal point for the global inclusion of persons with disabilities. Together with Jordan and the International Disability Alliance (IDA), Germany will host the next Global Disability Summit.
The goal of the event is to promote the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and to strengthen the participation of persons with disabilities worldwide.
The importance of inclusion for sustainable and equitable development is undisputed. The United Nations' 2030 Agenda and its principle of “leaving no one behind” emphasize the need to include all people, including persons with disabilities, in development processes.
The Global Disability Summit 2025 will address issues such as accessibility, equal opportunities and the promotion of participation in social, economic and political life.
The aim of German development cooperation is to put these principles into practice. The event in Berlin is intended to help strengthen global partnerships and develop concrete measures to improve the lives of people with disabilities.

Background Information
The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) requires states to ensure that persons with disabilities have access to all aspects of life. This includes education, employment and social participation.
The Global Disability Summit provides an important platform to showcase progress, discuss challenges and develop solutions.
Inclusion is not only a social goal, but also a sustainable development goal, particularly in areas such as nutrition and health.
