Rome, 3 October 2024 – To celebrate the Day of German Unity, Ambassador Andreas von Brandt invited to the garden of his residence in Rome.

Numerous international guests gathered to honor this special day, including high-ranking representatives from UN organizations such as FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu, IFAD President Alvaro Lario, and Carl Skau, Deputy Executive Director of WFP.

Despite the changeable weather, the guests enjoyed the evening and experienced the event in a relaxed yet festive atmosphere.

Musically, the evening offered a delightful contrast between lively jazz tunes and the sublime performances of the chamber choir Cantamus Berlin, which perfectly complemented the ambiance.

In his speech, Ambassador Andreas von Brandt emphasized the importance of the international community. He highlighted the role of cooperation in addressing the global political and geopolitical crises of our time and underscored the close partnership between Germany and the UN organizations.
